Shelby Lynn Hill, MD

When it comes to juggling career, family, health and happiness, Dr. Hill is no stranger to the act. As a mother of two and an OB/GYN, Dr. Shelby Hill knows first-hand the challenges and changes women experience as they travel through life. Her goal is to provide clinical expertise combined with support and personal information women need at each individual stage.

Specializing in pregnancy and childbirth, pediatric gynecology, routine gynecology, Dr. Hill endeavors to help women feel comfortable with their bodies at every age. Her studies took her from New York to the University of West Florida where she received her bachelor of science in cellular and molecular biology. She earned her MD at the University of Miami and completed her residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School and The Jones Institute of Reproductive Endocrinology.

Dr. Hill comes to us from her own private practice, The Group for Women in Crossville, Tennessee and has two daughters, Marin and Madilynn.

G. Vernon Pegram III, MD

Raised in Birmingham, Dr. Vernon Pegram has family ties to Decatur dating back to the 1930’s when his grandfather played semi-professional football here. After studying, living and practicing in various parts of the country, he’s proud to follow in those footsteps and call Decatur home. Dr. Pegram earned his bachelor’s degree with honors from The University of the South. He earned his MD from the University of Alabama in Birmingham and completed his OB/GYN Residency with the Greenville Hospital System in South Carolina. Dr. Pegram is Board Certified and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and is actively involved in a variety of professional societies. Dr. Pegram joins our community with his wife Lizzie and their children Trevor and Bo.

John L. Stafford, MD

Dr. John Stafford is no stranger to the south. As a rising college student, he entered Louisiana State University and didn’t leave until he had earned his undergraduate degree, MD degree and completed his residency. His passion for the school has led to the occasional purple and gold necktie. But rest assured, he knows where he is now, and won’t encourage any newborns to become LSU Tiger fans.

Dr. Stafford has practiced in North Carolina, Pennsylvania and most recently, Andalusia, Alabama. He is board-certified by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. His professional interests and experience include routine and high risk obstetrics, laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, and urogynecology. He and is wife Tanya de la Vergne, who is also a physician, along with their four children, Brittany, Caleb, Merrick and Collin, are pleased to call Decatur home.

John L. Stafford, MD

Randall J. Wendt, MD FACOG

In addition to being a board-certified OB/GYN, Dr. Randall J. Wendt is also a decorated former Lt. Colonel in the United States Army Reserve. His experience, combined with good old-fashioned army training helps him keep his cool under any circumstances.

Dr. Wendt comes to Monarch from Integris Clinton Regional Hospital in Oklahoma, where he served as Chairman of Obstetrics. He holds a bachelor’s degree and MD from the University of Texas, and completed his residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. His professional interests include OB ultrasound, high risk obstetrics, laparoscopy, hysteroscopy and urogynecology. He, his wife Sandra and children Joan, John, David, Geoffery, and Jason are excited about his new role and the warmer climate!
